A NEW BEGINNING, A FRESH START Its Time to Begin Again Study Genesis chapter 1
Ex 12:1-3 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. 3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
God declared unto His people that He was giving them a new start, a new beginning. A fresh start is God's idea- He knew people would experience seasons of life where they would need a new beg. God believes everyone deserves a fresh start God said to Israel, you will no longer go by the old calendar- you will not be held accountable to the days of your past. I set before you a brand new day, a fresh start.
New Beginnings start with God Look in the book of Genesis, the book of beginnings. It starts like this: In the beginning God… He always has been and always will be; He's Alpha and Omega In the Beginning, God created. He's always been God, and He always will be God. He's creating, building, forming, perfecting. God is Omnipresent (everywhere), Omniscient (all knowing), and Omnipotent (all powerful)
And then there was no form, no light, and a void on the earth. Before the fall of man, there was a fall of angels- Lucifer & 1/3 rebelled against God. The bible says the earth was without form: The Hebrew word for form is tohuw- vanity, desolation, a worthless thing; The world was empty: bohuw-empty, an undistinguishable ruin, a vacuum; darkness was upon the face of the earth: choseck- misery, destruction, death, obscurity. Sometimes our world and lives seem like that- What's going on? I've seemed to lose my purpose; A marriage failure, business collapse, sickness, disease, broken relationships, or moral failure. There are times when we go thru seasons of void and darkness. Job went through a season in life where there seemed to be no form, no light, and a void in his life. In Job chapter 29 He cried out. He missed the blessings and favor of God, and wondered what was going on.
On the formless, dark, and void world something was happening- the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. I love word studies. The Hebrew word for moved is rachap- flutters, broods, moves. Over the waters- Typifies humanity. In the midst of confusion, emptiness, and void, the Holy Spirit was moving. Out of the moving and brooding of the Spirit there came a voice. The first recorded words of God- Let there be light. Light up this darkness. In the environment of Holy Ghost anointing, God spoke, acted, and created a New Beginning for an empty world. He can do the same in your life today- No matter where you are.
God gives us New Beginnings so that we can have a fresh start- Exodus 12:1:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. IN FAMILIES, CHURCHES, BUSINESSES, & LIFE IN GENERAL, WE COME TO TIMES WHEN WE NEED A NEW START- Family- Death, Divorce, Remarriage; Work- Plant closes, layoffs, market change, downsizing; Church- People leave the church for various reasons: Death, Job, Go back into the world, family, dissatisfied, hurt; You raise them up, and pour into them, they go across the street because you're not sp enough or because your kids like it better; You raise up leaders, only to find they get mad at you, and you have to raise up other leaders. And so we are constantly facing transitions, changes, and a need for fresh starts. The traumas of life bring hurt and pain - as though our heart is breaking. Sickness, disease, death, loss of job, divorce--- For a while it seems that we can never put the pieces of our lives back together.
It's not time to quit, its time to begin again-Its time to dream again, believe again . Yeah, you've been thru some rough waters- get over it, forget it, forgive it . We are nowhere near completing our heavenly assignment. This church is called to be a Holy Ghost empowering station. We're called to be a place of passion and fire, prayer and worship. We are called to equip. Yeah, we sometimes come to an ending of some things, but it is a good place for new beginnings. Into the DNA of the church is a spirit of conquering- We refuse to give up and quit. Set backs are only temporary, and allowed by God for the purpose of our purging and future growth. Life is not about what is happening to you, its about what is happening through you. We are not victims, we are victors!
